Firmware update to HomeHub 3 B

Go to solution

The HomeHub 3 B firmware has been updated to version:

V100R001C01B036SP05_L_B  (previously  V100R001C01B036SP03_L_B )

Can a moderator please let us know what has been changed from a users point of view.

Also the BT Help information needs updated.

Re: Firmware update to HomeHub 3 B

Hi guys,

The new firmware on the Hub 3 type B is just a tiny change for multicast.  Apart from that you'll see no difference compared to the old version.

All the best,

Robbie

Re: Firmware update to HomeHub 3 B

Strange.

Just checked my HH3B hub manager and it informs me that current firmware is V100R001C01B036SP03_L_B, (supposedly the old version).

However, it also tells me that it was last updated 17/11/2013 (i.e. yesterday).

Could it be that I don't have multicast (whatever that is) and therefore don't need V100R001C01B036SP05_L_B?

Please explain.

If you go to the TR069 entries in your Home Hub Event Log you should see entries for downloading the firmware and also when it was installed.  Note that these entries are erased usually within a few days depending on how many events are being recorded.  As you are probably aware Firmware is normally installed on everyone's Home Hub on a rolling basis.

Re: Firmware update to HomeHub 3 B

Logs tell me that upgrade was successful.

Perhaps a reboot of the hub will help.

That did it!

Powered down for 4 or 5 minutes and hub now showing V100R001C01B036SP05_L_B

Checked logs again and it seems the upgrade occurred at 13:17:08 (i.e. 1PM not 1AM). As computer was in use at that time it may explain why the hub didn't reboot itself automatically after upgrade.

Still seems strange but thank you for your help.

If the firmware was upgraded then a reboot is done automatically. This should also show in the TR069 log.

Note that the firmware download is sometimes separate from the install.

Re: Firmware update to HomeHub 3 B

As you can see from my (edited) post above, a reboot worked in my case.

The DOWNLOAD completed successfully at 1:17 PM. How long after that the INSTALL usually takes place I don't know.

Hub is left switched on 24/7, so why it didn't reboot in the early hours (as it usually does) is a mystery.

For general information the sequence below shows a typical Firmware Upgrade. It should be read from Bottom to Top.

I see your upgrade download completed at 09:56 on 12th November. Your hub rebooted at 05:36 on the 13th November.

As you can see if you compare my log, the upgrade downloaded at 13:17 on 17th November but there is no boot/reboot success showing for the 18th November. The only mention of a boot was at 11:32 when I did a powered off reboot myself.
