Folders on tablet post migration to BT mail

Go to solution

I've been migrated to the BT mail and my folders are accessible on my PC but I can't see them on my tablet. Is there something that I should do ? Also can only view inbox on tablet no sign of sent emails!

What tablet do you have?

What email client are you using on it?

Were you previously able to see the folders?

Can you send and receive emails on it OK?

Have you set it up as an IMAP or POP3 account? See link for difference.

Samsung galaxy tab2. Sorry not sure of the email client...Give me a clue!
I used to see all the folders when it was yahoo.
Sending and receiving ok.
I set it up as POP3 and think that's my problem...Should be IMAP.

You are correct about setting it up as a POP3 account being your problem. You will only synchronise and see all the folders if it is an IMAP account. If you want to do that you will need to delete and set it up again. Be aware that if you delete the POP account you will delete any emails that you have in that account on your tablet.

Thanks for that. Just gone to set up as imap but it's telling me that it's unable to connect to email server to verify my account information. No response from server. I used this: imap.mail.btinternet.com
that's right isn't it?

Sorted! Thanks to all for help. Hope new BT app is good. I really liked the way Yahoo displayed, it was really slick, this feels like a retrograde step....but hey what do I know.

You could try the Aquamail app from the Play Store. It works just as well as the Yahoo app.
