Well my contract was coming to an end a few days ago so phoned BT to discuss options. It was pretty obvious there was no negotiation except to upsell services I didnt want or need.
Instead I dropped BT Sport altogether and just went with my broadband and phone and cut my bill from 49 a month to 27.99 instead. But my word, BT's call plans are pretty appalling for the light User. 20p per minute PAYG, a fiver for 200 minutes and 12 quid for 500(?) minutes.
It's cheaper to use my mobi tariff instead of 20p per minute and Id be wasting a fiver a month on 200 minutes we'd never use.
Maybe BT will come back to the table with a good deal to get me to take up BT Sport again but to be honest, you can view the matches if you're determined to do so.

That's not right, it's 20p p/m with PAYG, £5 for 500 minutes and £12 for unlimited, inclusive calls now include UK mobiles.
Out of the blue after 4 days of emailing them a lovely lady called Jacquline from BT Ireland and gave me a refund of £27 for BT Sports for the last 3 months and a credit for June, What a result.
It would be nice if when they get confirmation one way or the other as to weather credits are to be extended to June bills or not the moderators could post on here to clarify BT’s position on this.

OK, happy to be corrected on the number of minutes but it just means Id have more minutes not used for a fiver.
Anyhoo, just noticed a disgraceful act by BT on my next bill regarding BT Sport. My old contract for BT Sport ended 8 May as confirmed in my April bill. I renewed my broadband and opted not to renew BT Sport, all effective from 12 May.
Got an email an hour or so ago and checked the bill for the new amount only to find BT have tried to sneak a BT Sport cancellation fee of £16.99 as the service ended within contract! Nope, contract had ended.
Managed to speak to a lovely lady in Dublin and explained the renewal was after the old contract ended and that I should not have a cancellation fee. She had alook at the bill and agreed and has removed the £16.99.
Makes you wonder how many older folk and less savvy people end up paying these cancelation fees when they shouldnt be on bills!

No, it makes me wonder how BT are able to dishonestly charge customers, and why they are not hammered by OfCom. Oops, silly me - OfCom is for the benefit of big business, not the consumer
