PCR = Private Circuit Repair. Do not normally get involved in residential services, as they are a special group of people within Openreach, who deal with business customers` private circuits.

Ah well, that doesn't sound right then if they are for business customers.

Who sets up a residential customers profile then? Or would a typical openreach engineer who deals with broadband faults be able to check my setup / dodgy ports etc? Is a moderator able to assist?

PCR do also look after the fibre cabinets, and change and diagnose faults, as the fibre cabinets serve both residential and business. Normal Openreach Field Technicians do not have access to the fibre cabinets.

Thanks for the info Keith.

Any idea how to get the PCR guys involved? Possibly get an Openreach technician out again who could escalate it? I'm just getting fed up going round in circles and am close to demanding that the contract be terminated.

Hi @NeilO,

 

Got your msg, the line is clear now and I was happy with the connection until I carried out a quick check there. I'm slightly concerned that I had a disconnection at 7:30 this morning and my router has picked up several thousand errors since then.

 

I'll monitor over the weekend and post with an update Monday.
