We have FTTP being installed next week by Openreach, and currently have a pack of three Linksys WHW0303 Velop. Does anyone know if you can go straight from the ONT to the primary Velop node, or if you still have to use the BT router in-between the ONT and Velop?
Ideally, I'd like to not have to use the BT router, and to go:
ONT ---> Velop Primary ---> 8-port switch (for wired devices)
Thanks!
Yes, you should be able to connect it directly to the WAN port on the ONT.
It would not work with BT Digital Voice, as that needs the Smart Hub 2.
Thanks @Keith_Beddoe. Will give it a go once Openreach have been next week and report back

Don`t forget to enter the PPPoE login details on the Velop, otherwise you will just see the BT Wholesale error page.
I will be using Linksys Velop Triband primary node connected to the ONT using PPOE.
This requires a user name and password. Is this a generic or specific to my address.?
Can you tell me what to use please ?
The briefest of searches of the forum would reveal the generic logon details of bthomehub@btbroadband.com and BT
Many thanks for your reply appreciated.
I agree but I am sure you are aware that on forum answers can be conflicting.
From your reply it would seem that it is a generic ID and password.
ID bthomehub@btbroadband.com.
Is password blank and if so can I enter BT because primary node will require an entry.
Reference to digital phone connection fortunately Openreach engineer was tech savvy and he said they will fit a non standard 1+1 ONT where phone and primary node can connect therefore BT Hub is not required. I will update this forum if this is correct.

BT doesn't require a password but if your device does, anything can be used. BT is usually used.
Openreach engineer not tech savvy at all. BT hub is required for Digital Voice, older ONTs had a socket for FVA (Fibre Voice Access) which is completely different and no longer in use.
