Re: Full screen issue on android tablet

Go to solution

only think i can find about rockchip is video playback issues, with hd videos and netflix which mosly have been sorted

i currently use

netflix - no problems rendering full screen

Dolphin Browser - video sites - no problems rendering full screen

XBMC - no problems rendering full screen

youtube - no problems rendering full screen

bbc i player - no problems rendering full screen

itv player - no problems rendering full screen

40d - no problems rendering full screen

5 demand - no problems rendering full screen

tvcatch up - no problems rendering full screen

Google play - no problems rendering full screen

imdb - no problems rendering full screen

crackle - no problems rendering full screen

BTSport - problems rendering full screen

seeing the trend there, i would think that this is an app issue and not the tablet, as anything i use has no problems

I'll look around the rockchip forums more, but cant see any posts regarding the fullscreen issue

Well when you read that I would say it's pretty conclusive as to where the problem lies. I have looked on the Rockchip forums but not found any clues. Will just have to wait for any response from BT Sport.

Re: Full screen issue on android tablet

Have a read on xbmc forum who had these problems and thats why rockchip staff stepped in and sorted something out. Off the top of my head it was something to do with how the RC CPU and the app allow content to playback and as bt streams in HD then it does not playback as it should with lags and thtows the screen out of sync. I've asked 1 of the developers for a bit more infor as I've not had much to do with them.

Re: Full screen issue on android tablet

I had hoped to watch BT Sport on a mini Android PC connected to my TV but I only can expand the picture to about half the screen on my telly which aint much use. I presume this is teh same issue.

I've bumped this as it seems to be an ongoing issue and hopefully bt will take notice and at least investigate the problem.

RS,
I expect they will say it is being looked into as that's what I've been trying to do but as I've said those so much info on this out there it's a mine field lol.
IMHO the best thing all around is for BT and RockChip to get together and work hand in hand to sort it, RK have done this with a very media centers apk but TMK they have not with a main media provider. Netflix has a separate app developed by a few members that Netflix agreed on. The other way is to do like thee BBC has done with it's iplayer and that's to have an external media player.
An app using an external player (MX Player) is being worked on but not by BT but it's not proving easy and a lot of bugs are popping up and we've only been able to get it to run for a short times less than 2 mins
