G.INP On Drops My Speed

I have an Asus AC68U modem which has the G.INP option to turn on/off.

If i have it off my max sync rate is 77 Mb/s

If i turn G.INP on my max rate drops to 59-65MB/s .... why would that be ?

I thought G.INP was meant to improve things .

I believe my cabinet is Huawei and my modem reprots the chipset is Broadcom.

Should i just leave G.INP off ???

Thanks

Re: G.INP On Drops My Speed

If G.INP is meant to be so good then why does it slow my speed so much ?

Re: G.INP On Drops My Speed

It's not always active even if a cabinet is enabled. So by simply selecting it on yor router, could be confusing DLM as it may not think G.INP is needed on your line at the moment.

G.INP is just a tool DLM has, it's not something that's always on.

Re: G.INP On Drops My Speed

In your DSL log does it show that G.INP is on & is it on for both downstream & upstream?

This is what my DSL Modulation shows in the log - "ITU G.993.2(VDSL2), G.998.4(G.INP, Downstream only)"

If it's not on but you've selected the option then just leave it & let DLM does it job.

Re: G.INP On Drops My Speed

My Asus DSL-AC68U says the same as above. Downstream only. But when I turn it off I gain around 10MB/s sync .

Moral of the story, don't try and fix something which isn't broken 😉
