Getting BT Broadband dropouts

Today I’ve seen multiple what seems like BB dropouts.

i work from home and was busy working all of a sudden started getting issues.

Checked ‘tether’ app and it indicated my laptop to router was fine but router to internet disconnected.

As this was during work work day I needed to get back online quickly so I restarted the router. This worked but had similar issue 3 further times. Seems to be ok now but concerned how might I debut this ?

my new modem router is - Tp-Link VR900 1900

connection type is ADSL+2

I’ve had a look at the system logs but don’t know what I’m looking for as don’t see anything obvious.

thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @dspit1664

Thanks for your post and welcome back!

Sorry for the broadband drop outs you've experiencing recently.  How are things with your connection now?  Post back and I am sure one of the members will give you a hand.

Cheers,

Re: Getting BT Broadband dropouts

Seemed ok but yesterday afternoon went down - by that mean router lights indicated all good (wifi/ internet) but tether app said no internet. Reflected by my work laptop disconnecting. If at all important I need to use multiple VPN’s to connect to different segments of my work too.

Re: Getting BT Broadband dropouts

To add to this all my logs on the TP-Link are of type `Notice` I do not see any of types `Error` `Critical` `Alert` `Warning`.

Question is : Is this an issue with the TP-Link ADS Modem Router or my Broadband connection ?

Thanks for help looking forward for some assistance on this issue

Re: Getting BT Broadband dropouts

Long shot but try logging into your bt account page and disable Web Protect.  I had connection issues, drop outs, lag on xbox gaming, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Facebook, twitter.  All fixed after disabling Web Protect service.    Try this and mark as solution if it works
