Firstly I am not a BT customer.
I have owned/lived in my property for 9 years. Randomly a few months ago we received a BT bill for the previous owner. I returned the letter - Not known at this address - and hoped that would be the end of things. Alas no. We have received another 3 bills, each for differing amounts. We have called 3 times each time being told that they would update their records and we would stop receiving reminders.
We have received another bill this week and I'm tearing my hair out. How can I stop BT sending bills to my address for someone who does not live here.
Thanks in advance
Do you have any phone service, if so, who is is with?
The last owner may have forgotten to cancel their BT Service.
Our phone service is through Talk Talk so we do not pay any line rental to BT.
The bill is only for around £18-£25 and as we have only just started receving the letters assume this is something new.
Also it is the principle that we have advised BT they have the incorrect information and still we are getting bills.
Does the bills specify your phone number, or a different one? Do not show the number on this forum.
Are you being billed the correct amount by TalkTalk, or are you just being billed for broadband?
Thanks Keith.
No phone number but an account number and reference, which we have been giving when trying to resolve with BT CS.
When I tried to get through on the phone I have used our number but it does not recognise it so I assume this is for another service.
Also nothing has changed with Talk Talk, we have been with them years, no problems, which was why we moved from BT in the first place.
You are going to need a BT Employee to look at this.
I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.
Thanks for your help Keith
Hi @joayeo and welcome.
I'm sorry you're receiving bills that aren't yours. The quickest way to get that sorted would be to try our online billing chat team. Can you try that and let me know how you get on?
Cheers
David
Hi David, thanks for your suggestion. I've done that so hopefully it'll be the end of it. I'll be back if not.
Thanks
