Hi everyone,
Paying for 52mb infinity, it has been 50mb solidly since we bought it at the start of the year.
Now we are getting 17mb and I cannot work out why. I have spoken to BT and they say it is not their end of things.
We have already had an engineer out who laid a new cable to our house. Already had CAT5 cable put in about 3 months ago.
I do not use the BT homehub but the TP-Link TD-W9970.
Has been 17mb exactly for the last 3 weeks. I had tried 3 different HH5 and they also get 17mb.
Here is the checker below.
As a side note, the internet connection was unstable when we have 50mb, it would drop randomly all day and on the weekend it would be dropping once every ten minutes. Now we have 17mb, the line is incredibly stable, literally never drops.
Can you post the connection stats from the TP-Link?
Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
Hi, speed is low as it is peak times (I'm guessing), speed test site says 10mb at the moment.
Yes, master socket and extension give the same rating.
No noise on the line at all.
Just realised someone was downloading, now thats stopped. I'm back at 17mb / 18mb
You need to call in and get an engineer sent out.

Your line has been seriously banded by DLM due to instability. As @pippincp has said, you need to get an engineer to fix it.
