Great news! BT Sport now available on PlayStation 4 through a new app

Hi everyone,

Some of you eagled eyed customers may have already noticed that BT Sport now offer an app which is available for the PlayStation 4(PS4), meaning you can catch all our great sports content right from your console, adding to yet another device where you can catch all the action.

Where can I get the app and how much is it?

BT Sport customers can get the new app on PS4™ by simply visiting 'TV & Video' from the content launcher or PlayStation Store.  The BT Sport app is free to download, and existing customers use their BT Sport subscription login to view content.  For new customers wishing to access the new app, BT Sport is available for as little as £10 per month with BT Broadband

 Watch the UEFA Europa and Champions league finals!

Marking the launch and to celebrate the presence of four English teams across the two UEFA finals, both the upcoming UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League Finals will be available for free via the BT Sport App on PS4™, as well as free via btsport.com, the BT Sport YouTube page, the BT Sport app for small and large devices, plus, on Virgin channel 532.

I am an EE customer, is the app available to me too?

EE customers on a smart plan can select the BT Sport app as one of their swappable benefits via the My EE app. They can then add access to the large screen for £5 per month from My EE or by texting SPORT to 150.

What does the app give me access to?

BT Sport’s new app for PS4™ allows access to BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport 3, ESPN, Boxnation and the BT Sport Extra channels.  And, from today the BT Sport app for small and large devices makes a new range of services available including selected video-on-demand content and highlights.

The app on PS4™ makes BT Sport available in more ways than ever before, for example enabling access to BT Sport on the big screen without the need for a set-top box, and, allowing existing BT Sport customers access via a second screen at home.  Through the launch, BT Sport is now available on some of the most popular platforms including smart TVs, game consoles, mobiles, tablets and streaming devices.  More information on this can be found from here, Devices that the BT Sport app is available on

I have the BT Sports app on PS4.

I am not a BT broadband customer.

I understand it is £30 a month without broadband.

Happy to pay this, I cant find any link or way to set this up.

Please take my money!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting.

It's great to finally have the BT Sport App available on PlayStation. Sadly the BT Sports app and online player are only available with BT Broadband packages unless you take BT Sport via Sky TV or TalkTalk TV. We no longer sell a BT Sport App only service.

Hi @cwcw99 Thanks for posting, I'm afraid that's not possible as Virgin media customers don't have access to the BT Sport app.

Hi, I have installed the BT Sport app on my PlayStation 4. When logging in, it flicks straight back to another page without logging me in? I know the log in details are ok, as if I incorrectly input my password, it states it is incorrect. When I type in the correct one, it doesn’t do that. As I say, it sends me to a page informing me of how to watch BT Sport, without me being logged on.

Can I access BT Sport on PS4 via my Virgin Media account? I watch BT Sport on my laptop using Virgin Media. I'd love to do the same on my PS4.

@NeilO do you know why this is? It's really frustrating, as there is no Virgin app for PS4 either!
