Hi there, recently joined BT as new customer and we were told by engineer we were the last house connected to a green box over 1000metres away. He then said that there was a green box only 30metres away that we weren’t connected too but would give us much better WiFi and broadband deals but said good luck getting connected to that. Has anyone else experienced this? In an age that everybody has WiFi and now we have to work from home, I’m quite disappointed with how bad our new connection is. Today it took 15 minutes for an email to load. How can I expect me and my partner to work from home and keep in touch with family we cannot visit with it this bad and BT engineers saying we’ve not got any hope with getting better WiFi? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

There are numerous posts about moving to a nearer cabinet and openreach refuse to move cabinet just to improve connection speed
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
