HD Bolt on Confusion

Hi - was on the Big Sport pack with NOW TV Entertainment pass and paying £5 for HD bolt on which got me HD on both sports channel and Now TV. Swapped out Big Sport for just standard Sport and now being asked to pay £3 extra for Now TV Boost pass to get HD on Entertainment channels. Being told there is no way to avoid paying extra but not sure how this can be when I was previously paying £5? Very confusing. Anyone else having issues?

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

NowTV are in 720p by default but if you want 1080p on the NowTV channels that broadcast 1080p you will need the NowTV HD boost. Sky Sports Premier League, Main Event and F1 will also benefit from 1080p @ 50fps giving a smoother image.

The HD boost also gives 1080p on Sky Cinema and will give you access to BT Sport Ultimate if you have a 4K box with a fast enough line speed

This has been asked before. see here. You don’t need both.

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

I have been told twice today on the phone to BT that you do have to pay. Tried going onto website as new customer. If you select Entertainment pack with sport bolt on it looks like you only need £5 HD option covering both now TV and bt sport with cost of entertainment base pack being £12. If you select sport pack with Entertainment as bolt on then you can add the Now TV boost for £3 and £5 for bt HD option. Cost of entertainment pack in this option is £9.99.

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

We really shouldn’t need to get the Mods involved for what is basically an ordering error. Perhaps more training for the CS Staff (or some!), might be a good call?

I will raise with Mods.

From the help pages:

Can I watch NOW TV in HD?

To watch available NOW TV channels in HD, you’ll need to take a HD bolt-on, either HD (which lets you watch NOW TV and BT shows in HD) or NOW TV Boost.

They work on monthly-rolling contracts, so you can cancel it at any time. You’ll be able to watch live channels and any catch-up content included in your package in HD.

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

Hi @GeeBee1701 sorry you are getting conflicting information on the HD bolt on and Now TV Boost. The HD bolt on includes the Now TV boost . Check out the section on "What HD options are available to watch content in stunning HD? from the Community manager.
Have you ordered the HD bolt on yet?

cheers

John

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

You don't need any NowTV subscription to get full 4K/HDR on the NowTV 4K box.

'HD Boost' is for Now TV's own offering.

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

I was given two options. Either take the entertainment pack for £12 which includes now TV boost and add bt sport for £15 and HD bolt on for £5 to get bt sport in HD or take the sport pack for £15 and the HD bolt on for £5 togget bt sport in HD and add the entertainment pass for £8.99 and the Now TV boost for £3. So either way you are effectively paying for both HD bolt ons. If you go onto the bt website as a new customer and work through these two options above you will see in the first option there is no now TV boost option as it is already included in the £12 cost but for the second option, where your base pack in the sport pack there is both the £3 and £5 charges for the two HD options required.

Re: HD Bolt on Confusion

Anyone shed any light on this? When I was on the big sport package I only paid £5 for HD boost and got the Now TV boost included. Now I have to pay £3 extra?
