Did you check for noise on your phone line, as this has been asked a few times now?
Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
You need an engineer visit to resolve the problem, report it to customer services 0800 1114567 that your speed is far below acceptable.
I have done the test and it is very quiet, but normally when I am making calls and such there is crackling and people tell me they cannot hear me properly
There's the problem then, until the noisy line is fixed your broadband won't improve. Is there a difference in the quiet line test when connected to the test socket and when connected normally?
Now that I am connected to the test socket it is fine as I am on the phone to BT right now booking an engineer, but when its normal there is crackling noises
In that case the problem is in your internal wiring and you will be charged for an engineer visit, best to cancel. You need to investigate your internal wiring.
