HH4A firmware update today - to 4.7.5.1.83.8.130.1.17

Just had a HH4 reboot on me whilst recording something on one of the IP multicast channels - then seemed to go mental when it came back up by flooding my LAN with IGMP packets (seen on my gig hubs with all port lights flashing in sequence) which for some reason made my Apple AE/TimeCapsule that I use as a WiFi AP fall over Smiley Surprised

So did a power off reboot and it all came back up OK - checked the log and:

11:40:15, 04 Dec.(3995791.650000) CWMP: session completed successfully
11:40:14, 04 Dec.(3995790.040000) CWMP: HTTP authentication success from https://pbthdm.bt.mo

11:39:26, 04 Dec.(3995742.500000) CWMP: Initializing transaction for event code 6 CONNECTION REQUEST

So we have had an update and it decided to reboot on me, not whilst I was out and nothing happening, but whilst I was recording something - The log just shows normal stuff and then shows a reboot.

Can't see any info about an update on the forum and wondered if anyone else had noticed this, and what this is supposed to fix/improve? My HH4 now shows:

BT Home Hub 4 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.130.1.17 | Last updated 04/12/13

I do wish though that BT wouldn't just push stuff out without due recourse to the subscriber - most other suppliers will tell you about the update, give a brief synopsis of what is in the update and check whether you want to install it now or later.

@19nbg71 I dout it would do that as the line stats come from the white openreach modem and not the HomeHub4

One thing that I have noticed that has been fixed is the Home Network now displays correctly under the advanced settings menu.

i know the white modem is locked, but i just hoped the hub could send commands to and from the modem for stats Smiley Happy

I think you've answered your own question as the HomeHub can't do that because the modem is locked.

Hmmm ... not convinced it's 100% working as doing a refresh seems to 'move' devices around. I only have my Vision+ box plugged intp port 1 but clicking refresh seems to get it to show devices that are on a Gig hub plugged into port 4  appearing on port 1, and then do another refresh and the disappear altogether.

So, whilst it seems a bit better, it ain't working correctly still.

I had even more of a nightmare!

My 2.4G fell over and died! Ended up doing a factory reset, no idea why it died but it wasn't broadcasting at all despite the HH thinking it was. The 5G was unaffected.

My BTV box wasn't too happy about it either, although with the reset seems to have settled back down to behave. However doing the factory reset has taken down my BTWifi Zone.

Found this thread* whilst doing some research/tests so thought I'd add my bit

I can only see that the home network section has been altered to show a (rough drawn?) HH4 and the page layout has been tweaked - is there a need to show laptop images for ALL devices?. This still needs another tweak as my MAC addresses overlap (see red boxes)

Sure it's definitely running at 1 gig? Not limited to 100meg in software is it (ie not set to run at 1g)? My hub correctly shows port 4 as running at 1 gig with an 8-port hub plugged in, and everything running at 1 gig plugged into the hub is correctly identified.
