Hi,
I just upgraded today to a Home Hub 5 (Type B). I wanted the one box, rather than using hub and white modem.
Seeing line info is useful, but I wanted advice as I don't really understand it all.
I see that Maximum Data Rate is 60, although my connection has been 41/10 for months now.
I'm wondering if I can hope for any improvement, or will it remain the same?
As I'm on Infinity 2, and not much above Infinity 1 speed.
many thanks.
Firmware version: v0.07.01.0235-BT (Type B) Last updated [Unknown]
Board version: 01
VDSL uptime: 0 days, 07:03:31
Data Rate: 11256 / 43993
Maximum Data Rate: 11185 / 60863
Noise Margin: 6.1 / 7.9
Line Attenuation: 0.0 / 21.2
Signal Attenuation: 0.0 / 0.0
The download noise margin is off from the optimum of 6 which would tend to indicate a fault somewhere and if rectified your speed should improve.
Thanks for your reply. I just spoke to someone on online help and they said there are no faults.
I was hoping that there would be a chance of rectifying some speed loss.
As I'm so close to the Infinity 1 speeds, is it possible to downgrade?
of course it's not what I'd really want, but if there is no improvement I think it makes sense.
There is obviously something not right with your line or your stats would not be what they are.
You should check to see what your estimated speeds are. If you are outside them BT should do something about it. Can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results.

You could contact the Options Team on 0800.800.030 to see about a downgrade but you should really get BT to fix the problem.
You are within the estimated speeds so it will be a struggle getting BT to do anything as they will probably say you are within estimate.
It may be that a moderator could have a check of your line and assist in getting the problem resolved. They are a BT UK based team and if they can help they will reply via this thread asking you to contact them via a link. Once you have replied to them by the link, it can at present take up to five working days for them to re-contact you.
Hi mas13,
Thanks for your post.
Please send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods" link found in my profile and I will look into this for you.

Thanks for your help, but I think it might of corrected itself. It's a bit better now.

Although, I have another question.
I have this old GPO socket in the hallway, and the wire leads to the master socket which was updated.
Does this make any difference, or nothing to worry about?
many thanks
