Found this by accident today whilst troubleshooting what has turned out to be a fault in the cabinet apparently. Normally we sit aroun 55Mb but today the W9980 has been reading around 6Mb. BT wanted me to try the HH5 and that sits at 12Mb. I've repeatedly tried one and then the other and the result is the same. I'm confused as to why the HH5 is connecting at a quicker speed?
I stopped using the HH5 in November last year as it kept dropping the connection, the W9980 doesn't have this problem. Not sure if the HH5 has had any firmware updates that might have fixed it since. Any idea why the speed difference between the two routers?
Got up this morning to moaning from the family that they couldn't do stuff last night. Plugged the HH5 back in and it's sitting at 15Mb. I see looking in the HH5 helpdesk section that it did recieve a firmware update when I plugged it in yesterday so if the disconnect issue is fixed I'll go back to using the HH5. Just need our fibre speed fixing now.
