HH6 and IP address allocation

For reasons that are less than clear to me, my HH6 has been known to occasionally assign a static IP address to a device for no very obvious reason (it's not like it assigns static IP addresses to the another device of the same model from the same manufacturer, it happily gives *them* dynamic IP addreses).

I occasionally get brave and go to the router setup, find the device, and go and change it to a dhcp address.

Does it listen? Does it heck.

It's still itting there as a static IP address after that, even if the device isn't connected.

What gives?

Re: HH6 and IP address allocation

Hi @thos_tanner and thanks for posting.

Are you able to post a screen shot of the issue you're seeing?

Cheers

David

Re: HH6 and IP address allocation

Trying to get one - today however it is giving me static address on the main screen and then when I  click to alter, it's saying dynamic address.

In passing, although device names are sorted alphabetically apparently, I find it hard to believe that 'T' sorts before 'M'

*cough* found the snipping tool: This is what is said on the main menu

and this is what you get when you click 'alter' - which says DHCP, not static at all:
