Hi everyone, i have a very basic problem, moved into a new build a week ago, received the BT Smart Hub today for Superfast Fibre, got 2 types of cables ( one with yellow, other with red ends) and i feel like i have tried every possible scenario, plugging them into different sockets and whatnot, but just can't seem to get over the flashing orange light on the Hub.
Also the Openreach modem is a Huawei one, i shall try to post pictures, if anyone could be any help, it'd be much appreciated. Clearly this heat is stopping my brain from working.

Hi @Gyorgyi
Welcome to the Community!
Using the red cable supplied, it needs to go from the port labelled WAN on your Smart Hub into Port 1 of the ONT. Both of which need to be powered.
I wouldn't think those ports on a faceplate in your home would be connected to the install - they may be internal ethernet wiring for you to connect Smart TV's, Set Top Boxes, Laptops etc to.
It should have come with a manual, like this one: https://btsupport.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/5259265/1520421203/redirect/1/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8x... to help you get connected.
Let me know how you get on 🙂
To get the sockets in the rooms working you need this set up.
