Hello as of 2 days ago i have had a rather sudden lack of speed, until this problem occured i was able to download @ 900Kb/s on a good day nearly 1meg/s but now i cant even run btspeedchecker as it crashes.
I have tried the following:
1) connected straight to master socket (inside cover)
2) different extension cord
3) no extension cord
4) new filter
5) Complete reinstall of OS.
6) Turned off wireless on router incase of unauthorised access eating bandwidth
7) disabled firewall
still no joy please help
speedtest.net comes up as follows:

UPDATE:i have now managed to get the btspeedchecker to complete a check and the info is as follows:
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
|0 Kbps||7150 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
| Download speedachieved during the test was - 74 Kbps|
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 2000-7150 Kbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :9586 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1164 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 18.47:29.67:51.86 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
|0 Kbps||1164 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
>Upload speed achieved during the test was - 921 Kbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 1164 Kbps
Having exactly the same problem, we've changed nothing at all on our end, but about 2 days ago the speed of our line just totally died. Even when we've checked it at off-peak times, the speed of the line is a total joke - at least when dial-up existed webpages were almost exclusively html!!
