Hey again

Go to solution

so from the last time

Hey,

Well, as the subject says I need some help with my current speed, currently it has been unusable for the past week or 2,
I tried everything that has been shown on the forum and relocating my router to a different place worked for a few days but it became even more slow then before.

I've seen the other posts so here everything that,I think, is needed:

ADSL
Line state	Connected
Connection time	0 days, 0:24:07
Downstream	611 Kbps
Upstream	367 Kbps

ADSL settings
VPI/VCI	0/38
Type	PPPoA
Modulation	ITU-T G.992.3
Latency type	Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up)	7.2 dB / 6.3 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up)	72.5 dB / 41.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up)	0.0 dBm / 12.5 dBm

I can't keep this up for long withought restarting because in the first hour or so its nearly the usable area
but it still is difficult to even watch youtube or do any kind of research.

Speed test
(I'm unsure of my service id)
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.13 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.1 Mbps-0.5 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 0.54 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.24Mbps
 Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps

I don't know what is happening but i am sure i get around 5-10mbps usually, which is okay, and the upload speed is usually below the download speed nearly 15times on some occasions.

it all started since my adsl replacement... so im not sure.

the thing is I relocated my wires and it has got a lot faster

Download speedachieved during the test was - 6.31 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 8.27 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.68Mbps
 Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps

but my data transfer speed dropped significantly

Actual data transfer speed11 Mbps

heres the adsl(just in case)

Line stateConnected
Connection time0 days, 0:13:06
Downstream9,380 Kbps
Upstream1,183 Kbps

ADSL settings
VPI/VCI0/38
TypePPPoA
ModulationITU-T G.992.3
Latency typeInterleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up)6.3 dB / 6.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up)27.5 dB / 13.2 dB
Output power (Down/Up)0.0 dBm / 12.1 dBm

and therefore I was wondering why is my line changing so often and is it an issue with me or you?

and secondly should atleast the medium for my download speed be higher?

Re: Slow speed...

with your attenuation of 72.5 you are a long way from the exchange over 5km and probably a max speed of about 1/1.2mb.  There is no chance at that distance of 5/10mb

are you connected to the test or master socket?  do you have other sockets?

Re: Slow speed...

I'm not sure if this is the main or not since its the only socket I really looked for.

Also I was usually getting 10mbs on http://www.speedtest.net/ a month ago or so

Re: Slow speed...

the master normally looks like this  master socket nte5.jpg  so this is the only socket in your home?

can you try quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should hear nothing and best with corded phone   if cordless then dull hum is normal

Re: Slow speed...

if your socket looks like the one I posted can you detach the bottom half and connect to the test socket that is behind.  this is you best conenction direct to the exchange and may improve your connection.  if you do connect to the test socket can you post new stats please
