I've recently returned home to my parents' house from uni, where my Dad's been complaining about the internet speed for some time. So, deciding to investigate, I found the connection here has a consistently high ping and jitter levels. The average ping on a test will range from 150-500+ with the jitter following a similarly extreme leap. Packet loss is also ranging from less than 1% to 8%.

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps
your throughput/download in your btspeedtester results was low for your profile - this could be due to congestion on your exchange. can you run btspeedtester again as there should be little congestion at the moment and see if throughput any better.
