High latency on one warcraft acount only!

ok so i decided to make my own thread with some detailed info of what im suffering.

Basicly i have a few warcraft accounts each used by different member of the family. one account is having 15000 to 30000 latency only between 7pm till about 12am when the warcraft server is getting busy, but every other account is perfectly fine. Ive been trying to get some sense out of this but nothing seems to work!

I have contacted blizz tech support for over a month and they give me alot of info to troubleshoot the problem but it doesnt work and eventually make me go around in circles trying to fix it. And now they just say they have exhaused their troubleshooting. Ive even had a gm log into the account and they told me they had no issues playing on it.

The steps i have taken are:

Using wired ethernet cable

Resetting the router

Rettetting the router to defaults again

Changing the router

Port forwarding

Changing my network card settings

Updating all drivers to tha latest version

Deleted all addons on my warcraft game client

Completely Re-installed the game client

Checked my firewall to allow specifit ports

Disabled my firewall

Make numerous pathpings and tracerts (which still show as if im perfectly fine)

Turning the game settings down to lowest

So why is this only happening to one account? its either blizzards side or BT's side and neither will find a problem for me!

The fact that it only happens to one account is probably blizzards side, however the fact it only happens at a specific time indicates its an ISP problem

Edit: some more info i forgotten, this pathping was taken during my latency. I have also tried using a program to limit down much im downloading and uploading. I have yet to try a new program i installed called Wireshark. If i watch myself playing from another account it looks like im moving around perfectly fine. But from the acutal account im actually watching about 2 minutes behind everyone else and i dont catch up, then i get disconnected. So this is why im thinking the issue is downstream not upstream, if you know what i mean?

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

id like to bump this thread again because my issue is stil on going. its nor their servers. My account works outside of my home fine. i believe its a packet loss problem with the route i take to connect to the servers.

This is getting increasingly frustrating :<

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

Have you checked that particular computer for a virus?

My daughter had the same problem once and it turned out she had a very well hidden virus.  She was being used as a mail server and we only found out because it was so slow and showed a lot of connections in dos under netstat.

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

Yes its not a virus problem, it doesnt matter which computer i use (and i have a few) in the house or whether anyone else is using the internet. Just this one account

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

Could you post a pathping when the account is in use and not lagging?

Also try resetting your router back to factory defaults see if that makes any difference.

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

Are the accounts all playing on the same realm?

Edit: If we look at the evidence, you have PROVEN beyond doubt that the fault does not lie with:

A: The PC. All computers in your house have the same issue.

B: The physical internet connection. None of the other accounts have this issue.

All that leaves to me is the possibility of either the particular realm servers being hosted on another planet, or the pingpath as another poster kindly stated.

Try and use another realm on the same account and see if the problem still exists. If possible, use another realm that is on a different battlegroup and see if there's any difference.

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

My thoughts exactly, the one thing that puzzles me is number 19 on the pathping. I dont think it should be routing back to the pc it originated from? i dont know how it works so maybe someone else could clear that up?

that is why i ask for a pathping when it isnt lagging, for comparison. also why i suggest resetting the router in case some setting is causing that to happen.

edit: just noticed you already tried resetting the router, no harm trying again tho just leave everything you can at default tho dont add ports or anything if you can, just ket upnp take care of it (if you can).

Re: High latency on one warcraft acount only!

Before latency: Dont worry about the ping of my router, it does that sometimes. i changed it back to my old one instead of BT's home hub since the cause was not with my router.
