Hmm, I've just had a call from BT........

Go to solution

Morning forum fans

At 10:28 my landline rings with 0800 169 1608 being displayed

A nice lady then offers to migrate our BB service over to Infinity for FREE, paying exactly what I'm paying for our ADSL connection and without extending the length of our contract (May).

Apparently BT want all customers to migrate to Infinity as and when the service becomes available - I have declined this in the past down to the increase in costs.

I asked for a call back to think (and check) on this offer

So my Q is - Too good to be true?

(someone is calling me back within an hour....:|)

Will it go to the higher Infinity rate AFTER your contract ends !!! If so and its too much for you as now, I wouldn't do it....

Thanks atttim for replying

Already thought about that too and is going to be at least one of the many Q's fired back at them.

If it doesn't re-new your contract and is no increase in price, there is no reason not to. If they ask for your details tell them to do 1 or ask for verification.

Right, here goes.......

Had the second call at 12:51 and......

He confirmed:

That he wanted to go ahead and book the engineer - hold on a mo flower!

That the migration was free

There would be no extension in our contract, which wasn't May but infact June

There would be no additional increase until 5th Jan - which I mentioned was my way of leaving BT early

That there would be an increase AFTER my contract renewal date as I would be on Infinity

My speed would be around 27mbps - told him about WB's involvement some time ago regarding my exchange

That I'd be better off on Infinity

I told him:

As BT are withdrawing BBT, BT don't really offer anything else that others can't supply for less per month than BT

(based on BB only)

That when I get my email regarding the price increase in January, We're probably jumping ship anyway - Blame BTV for that.

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks.

Yes, but a con man would ask for bank details for confirmation of their identity.
