Re: Holidays!

Craig, make sure you pop in to one of the local schnellies and tuck into some tasty gyros brotchen or gyros pitta!  I used to near live in the schnellies close to camp when I was based in Germany .....  as did most of the other blokes Smiley Happy

Have a great time Craig!

Kind regards... Tom

Re: Holidays!

That would do the trick nicely Craig.  You could of course go grab a 'Yellow Handbag'  (a 6 pack of Herforder beer, fondly referred to as a Yellow Handbag by squaddies) which is at the higher end of German beers.

Enjoy your holiday mate.  Germany is a wonderful place to visit (not bad to live in for a few years either), but to get the real feel for the place you need to visit the 'old town' sections of the various towns and cities.  These parts are where you tend to find the older generation Germans and knowing a phrase or two (swearing, ordering beer/food & such like) of the local lingo also helps.  The universal language of 'MORE TEA VICAR!' also works well Craig.   Smiley Very Happy

Kind regards... Tom

Re: Holidays!

Should be off to Cyprus in September/ October and we are chancing it by getting a late booking 🙂

Have visited Cyprus many times before and love it...

The beaches, people, Cypriot food, sights and sounds, the view of Cyprus out of the aircraft window is amazing and always worth filming- the best views are to be caught during the descent and landing.

We always head to the top of Troodos mountains- there's some lovely villages to visit on the mountain.

There's a nice beach in Dhekelia which is also worth a visit has a nice Cafe, changing facilities and some restaurants/ bars.

Nicosia is a good place to visit aswell but it gets extremely hot during the day.

Re: Holidays!

There's so many nice places in Cyprus 😉

Pissouri village is nice I agree, it's a nice drive and has lovely views, everything in the village was closed when we visited apart from the ice cream parlour.
