Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

How are you connecting to the AE once you have changed its address? You need to enter 192.168.1.10 in your browser address bar.

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

Via Airport Utility on my MacBook Pro.

When I enter those numbers in the browser, I get my wireless speaker support page.

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

I have run an AirPort Express through a HH 5. I connected AE via its wan port to an Ethernet port on the HH 5

Using airport utility under Internet options I set the AE to connect using DHCP. You may get a double NAT advisory but I ignored this.

Everything worked well. I did switch off the HH5 wifi.

Ok, I guess that address is being used by something elase. In which case, give it another address that isn't being used. Or, I guess, connect as Stevebrass has done.

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

How would I give it another address?

Stevebrass, when I open Airport Utility nothing happens - what might I be doing wrong?

Thanks

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

The same way you gave it an address of 192.168.1.10, just use a different address that is not being used on your network.

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

How do I choose an address though? Can I just make the numbers up?

PS I'm not technically minded so this is a bit foreign to me.

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

No, it needs to be 192.168.1.xxx where xxx is not being used on your network.

How is everything connected at the moment and why do you need to add a HH5 to the network?

Re: Home Hub 5 and Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule

You say nothing happens - it doesn't  show the TC then?

How are you using the TC at the moment?
