Re: Home Hub Ethernet Connections

Initially had a problem with Vision which required an engineer visit. Turned out to be a dodgy mains ethernet connector which he replaced however he recommended that it would not be advisable to add another connector and suggested persevering with wireless.

Apologies, forum novice where should this be posted?

Thanks

Re: Home Hub Ethernet Connections

Thanks, but problem still exists as I think the place was once two houses as there are thick walls basically dividing the house in two except for two doorways.

Re: Home Hub Ethernet Connections

Thanks, if I had a Mk2 2 Hub four ports would suffice. Is a Gigaswitch different from the 5-port Netgear fast Ethernet switch that I've tried?

Re: Home Hub Ethernet Connections

dont understand why the netgear switch didnt work , when i conected our 1 to ethernet port 2 of the hub and the 2 comps to the switch it just worked , you could go into the hub manager and assign static ip addy's for the comps see if that helps or its possible the switch is faulty
