Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

Customer care reckon after seeing some of the events page there is a fault on the network, they will be in touch in the next 48hrs?

fingers crossed

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

I've had constant disconnections every  day for the last few week if not month and after swapping back to my HH3B and ECI modem I haven't had a single disconnection.

My download speed has also fallen from a rock solid 40 to 41Mb to 32.5Mb, hopefully staying connected will resolve that though.

This has to be something to do with the HH5 but I'm still waiting for BT to comment.

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

Could you not therefore use you HH5 as a router only with the older ECI modem?

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

Probably but I was asked by 2nd line support to reinstate my HH3B and ECI modem until Wednesday.

It sort of defeats the object of havign a HH5 just using it as a router though.

I'd gamble it's something to do with the last firmware update casuign all these problems.

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

I believe it is their online meddling using their interface. Mine when shutting down always has ongoing TR069 events ongoing. I wish I had an older modem / router to use.

I will (hopefully) find out what the problem is on Friday, though looking at the stats I have been trouble free for 16 hrs

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

~36 hours up AND and upgrade to 44Mbps so getting closer to my 58, then 4:00am disconnected, at the same time I was eventing TR069 events, coincedance??  I think not

We will see what the engineer says when he comes.

I have procurred a 2nd hand modem frm a certain auction site, I intend to fit that when I get 24 hours stable again and a 3rd party router.

I think the HH5 is serously flawed

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

BT cannot reset an infinity connection it can only be done by Openreach engineers visit if a fault is found then an engineer can request a profile reset but on many occasions Openreach refuse and say that the DLM has to be left to reset the connection once the line stabilises

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

BT also cannot admit that there is ongoing faults with the HH5. Plenty of people here are proving that, yet they stay blind to it all

Re: Home hub 5 / infinity 2 disconnection

It's expensive for them to recall the HH5 and replace it with something else. I replaced my HH5 with a BT OpenReach HG612 and I've not had a single disconnect in 10 days and my speed is almost back up to full speed. I cannot recommend picking up your own open reach modem or other third party VDSL modem to replace the HH5.
