Home hub connected but can't open web pages

Hi All,

Had similar issues with my sisters flat, they just upgraded the hub. iPhone connected fine and my laptop (Mac) also connected and had full signal but websites were not opening.
I finally solved the problem by:
- Open Network Preferences
- Open Advanced... (Bottom right)
- Select the DNS tab
- Select the existing DNS servers and delete them
- A new DNS server should automatically reappear, leave it
- Your internet should now work

Good luck!

I do not understand why people search around for old posts like this one rather than start their own thread

this is another good reason for old threads being locked

Re: Home hub connected but can't open web pages

Hi @FraserGow,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting.

I've moved your post to a new thread as the other thread was 4 years old. It should have bumped to the top of the queue so more people will be able to see it Smiley Happy

Thanks
