A friend of mine is a radio ham and is trying to use an application called Echolink on his PC/laptop to contact other radio ham's over the internet. Apllication is installed and verified but he cannot connect to any call signs. He uses a Home Hub 2 and I suggested that it's firewall may be blocking incomiing and application sharing/port forwarding may need to be enabled.
I remotely accessed his PC (Crossloop)/Router but whilst could find application sharing a) Echolink is not one of the listed applications and b) I could not add it.
Despite using help files this hub just doesn't seem to have ability to be able to add additional applictions. I've looked everywhere !! but the hub doesn't appear to conform to help file instructions. I thought it may be because the firmware is out of date but according to help files this appears to be a automatic update feature.
Would really appreciate help and feedback on this

Read on it heremight help under PORT FORWARDING HOME HUB 2
Thanks for link. Getting to application sharing is not as straightforward as instructions suggest. Also, there is no "Supported Applications" instead a drop down box with the words "select game or application".
This does give a pre-defined list of a number of applications - the name of the application (EchoLink) isn't in the list, NOR, I repeat NOR is there a link/button or whatever entiltled "Add new game or application" that I can click on. I'm at a complete lose. I've looked everywhere. My friend confirms it's a BT Home Hub 2. My question is - is there more than one version of home hub 2. Is this a first generation version? and firmware can't be updated ?. Should he ask for a replacement. ??
Seems to be the same in newer versions
But that artical shows how to add a not listed application though you do need to know which ports and so on the application needs to use
I know the ports that need to be forwarded but despite what article says there is NO link/button which says "Add new application". If you know exactly where I can find it, let me know
have you looked under advanced settings ?
log in its in the second frame down towards the right of page
The link I gave takes you straight in to where you want to be other than pass word entry
or log in to hub
click A to Z top right of page
select ADD NEW GAME OR APPLICATION
on that page SUPPORTED APPLICATIONS
on that page ADD NEW GAME OR APPLICATION
now do it
Thanks for continued support. Of your two methods, the link method is the one that gives access to adding new apps Your link produces a different page i.e a summary page of supported games and applications and there is a button to add new games and applications.
This time able to add echo and assign port. Hope we have done this correctly. Testing to date not been able to connect to any listed callsigns. Software doesn't appear to be able to indicate if called user in online with his PC/laptop. We will endeavour to move forward.
Thanks for your help in at last finding how to add the application
