Homehub 5

Hello,

I was sent a new hub yesterday, I did have the hub 3. Since connecting the hub 5 it keeps losing the connectiong, needing me to reboot the home hub. THis happens every 5 to 10 minutes. I googled the hub and discovered that the hub 5 should be connected straight into the telephone socket with the DSL connection, not the WAN into the openreach white box thingy. I tried this and so far , for about an hour seems OK, actually getting fater speeds now. Is this OK to connect it like this?

The HH5 has a built in ADSL/VDSL modem built in, so yes, the normal method of connection is directly to the phone socket. However, many people prefer to connect via the Openreach modem for a more stable connection!!! You appear to have the opposite experience.
