Homehub ethernet problem

I have a BT Homehub version 1. The wifi works fine.

But when I connect a computer using a cable the internet connection is extremely slow and I can barely load a web page. This also slows down the internet connections of the wifi devices to the same extent.

I have tried various cables (both straight through and crossover), different ports and different computers but still get the same problem.

Possibly a faulty homehub?

I would say so, seems like your using an older homehub thou and might be time to upgrade!!

I use this now http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=10546

Re: Homehub ethernet problem

Hi,

Our daughter has a HH2 and we find her ethernet connection is slow if she leaves the wifi connected - if she disables the wifi - the ethernet zooms along (as fast as 1.5 Mb can zoom).

Not sure if your're leaving your wifi on, if so may be worth a try.

Michael
