My old outlook.com email address was david.surnameAToutlook.com. Every month, I used to receive as many as 100 junk and attempted fraud emails so I devised a way to reduce these. My solution was to change my email address to what I call a 'phonetic' version. It's so simple; it's based on my initials.
I'd rather not say what my new email address is but let's say that if your name is "Joe F Bloggs", you change your email address to "jayeffbeeAT". It worked for me as I've never received any junk/fraud emails since! The reason is that the nasty people who send such emails have powerul computer systems that quickly run through a combination of genuine first names and surnames to come up with millions of names and they then email all of them.
Which leads me to my question in the heading: how can I change my BT email address? Is there a simple way?
Solved! Go to Solution.
you can't change an existing email address as they are unique just need to create a new email address
Many thanks. How do I create a new email address please?
Just go to Gmail and create one, or if you really want a BT internet address see https://www.bt.com/help/email/manage-email-account/account-set-up/how-do-i-create-and-activate-a-new...
@licquorice Thanks. I went to the link to the BT internet address and the "locked out" message shown below was displayed. That was the first time today that I've tried to log in!!! I'll get there eventually.
