All my devices are on channel 36 & 11

Thanks @imjolly

Re: How can I make My internet faster & not cut out (BT Hub 6)

you want to avoid the channels in use by neighbours or if you need to use same channel make sure your hub has stronger signal

you really need to get wifi analyser app for you mobile  it will show surrounding networks including your own and also channel in use

[HELP] What is wrong with My Hub 6/Internet? Logs & Info included [HELP]

Hi everyone,

Im really getting pee'd off with my broadband. The speed has decreased by 3mbps over the space of 2 weeks, And the Hub just keeps cutting out all the time. I have problems with the PS4 more than ever. My phone's WIFI has now been turned off due to it cutting out the internet. Its just problem after problem. I don't believe BT saying its street lights or something doing it. It happens at the various times. HELP

It was fine 2 weeks ago, but its been getting worse and worse. I spoke to BT and they said my connection was fine, And I should be getting 14mbps. I was getting 12 max for the past year (Since Ive moved)

Its really annoying me now. We have BT TV in 1 ethernet port, The rest of the devices, about 10 (Not on all at the same time, 5 max) are WIFI.

I've gone into setting and got all the data/info from the past 2 days (its long) but Id love it if someone could look through it and tell Me if anything seems wrong. You can see constant disconnects. A lot of them happen when im playing my PS4, And was with my phone, until i turned off WIFI and use the data (which i didnt want to do) Im now using the phone as a hotspot for my PS4 as its ruining online games. But I do not have unlimited data and seriously thinking of getting a 4g hub from three now. Its a joke.

If someone could look at the document link on pastebin, All the info from the last 10 pages are there (so its long) and the info about the setup. If ive put something sensitive on there, can someone let me know? I dont want my WIFI hacked or something.

Here is the link:

Document With Info & Data

I hope someone can take a look at the last 2 days and see all the data and decipher it, It would be great. If you need the data narrowed down to a certain field, Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

PS. Current speed test is saying 9mbps and not even a mb upload. So poor.

Re: How can I make My internet faster & not cut out (BT Hub 6)

@Bittywrote:

Is there any settings I can change? Like getting rid if bt fone as I cant see the option in the settings.

The forum experts, @imjolly and @licquorice are doing their best. Since I am not technically proficient, I can only watch this topic with interest.

May I ask what you mean by "getting rid of BT Fon". It should be there in the list of nearby connections only. You should not be connected to it as it is an "open" connection.

if you go to hub manager then wireless then change settings you should be able to select a different channel and not automatic   once done remember to save before exiting

Re: How can I make My internet faster & not cut out (BT Hub 6)

Hi,

I've worked out the problem via a great app. The problem is everyone surrounding our house is on the same channels. Is there a way I can change the channels 2.5 & 5ghz without splitting the band's?

I can't seem to find any option to change the channels unless you split the channels. I'd love to do this and know how to do it , BUT it's my Dad's internet and he doesn't understand anything about it. If I split them then he will know as there will be a new password for the 5ghz band.

Please tell me that there is a way to change the channels of them without splitting the band's?

And if I did split them, will all his devices be disconnected and need the password to be entered again? Even if I don't change the 2.5 bands password from the original?

My dad is one scary bloke and if i start mucking around with the web he will give me loads of grief, which I don't want. Even though Im making the web better he will just moan at me.

Is there a way of changing the channels without splitting the band's ? Or split them, change the channels and the. Unsplit them, if you know what I mean ? @imjolly

Thanks

Re: How can I make My internet faster & not cut out (BT Hub 6)

did you try going to hub manager then wireless and change settings  that should allow you to change channels without splitting networks

splitting networks would probably help some wifi devices  you can use the same password for both network but the 5ghz will have a different SSID (name) after split   any devices which can connect to 5ghz would need to be reconnected to new SSID but still same password
