We've inherited a new BT handset and discovered that we don't have a personal message recorded on BT Answer 1571. Online advice says that you can do this by keying 1571 and pressing 2 from the menu, but I'm not getting a menu: just 'You have no new messages: goodbye.' Any suggestions please how I can record a personal message - I'm assuming this is a problem with BT Answer rather than the new handset?

Hi @Gill3
I don’t use it but have you tried pressing 2 (tone) immediately. Also leave a message, perhaps from your mobile
How do I record a personal greeting on my line?
Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly the five steps don't work as there's no menu; I did try pressing 2 immediately, but nothing happened. I've been doing a bit more digging around, and it looks as though I have to pay for BT Call Minder to have a personal greeting.
