Re: How can I stop broadband phone ringing with landline number?

@macneil

If you wish to stop the hub phone from ringing when your landline number is called, set the hub phone to ring on Broadband Talk Only.

As per

thank you again

Yes, this is the screen and those are the options

There is no facility to have just the landline ring

Many thanks once again but BT just doesn't seem to have the option I need so I'll have to cancel I suppose

I'm still within the cooling off period.

Thanks again for your help

That was not the original question.

If you disable Broadband Talk, then the broadband phone will default to the landline, assuming that you do not want to use Broadband talk.

If you follow the screen above, your landline phone will only ring if your landline number is called.

Also, the hub phone will ring if your broadband talk number is called.

Finally, as the service is now active, there is no cooling off periodSmiley Sad

Are you sure?

I would interpret that as Phone socket (ie Landline) Broadband (hub Phone) and land line ring which unless I am mistaken is not what is wanted.

How do you get JUST the Landline to ring when the landline number is called, that option does not exist?

Phil.

Yes I'm sureSmiley Happy

My set up:
Hub phone registered to the hub

Landline phone plugged in to a standard phone socket

(telephones set as per earlier image)

If my broaband talk number is called, then ONLY my hub phone rings
If my landline number is called, ONLY my landline rings.

Your not plugging your landline phone in to the hub phone socket (back of hub) and only wanting it to ring for landline calls are you?
If you are then obviously that phone will ring on both types of call or just VOIP as this connection is for VOIP, it's not a standard landline connection.

DS hi

My set up is as per yours, ie Landline plugged into standard phone socket, and another phone plugged into the socket at the back of the Hub.

My hub 2.0 does not have the phone (hub phone I guess) attached to the front.

Perhaps that is why I am unable to register the phone plugged into the back, and am not getting the extra ring option line on the setup page.

Phil.

Re: How can I stop broadband phone ringing with landline number?

Hi Phil

I don't have a 'normal' phone plugged in to the rear of the hub, I use a BT Hub Phone.

Because you have a 'landline' phone plugged in to the back of the hub, it acts like a hub phone
(it's not actually a hub phone)

To acheive what you want (to stop a phone that is plugged in the rear connection on the hub from ringing on both types of calls), you really need to obtain a hub phone.
(that way, you'll be able to set your phones as per mine).

As a test, I have just plugged a standard phone in to the rear of the home hub and this rings for both types of calls (voip or landline). This is to be expected.
