This might seem like a stupid question but I'm a little confused about my Infitiy2 speed.
http://www.speedtester.bt.com reports it as 76Mbps down and 12 up
http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk reports it as 67937kbps down and 15833kbps up
http://www.speedtest.net reports it as 51.32Mb/s and 16.10Mb/s up
Actual download speed on a test file with IDM is being reported as ~9.800 MB/sec
I'm a bit confused how the different units translate. Out of a possible 80mb line (or 76mb as it now states on the Infinity page), what have I actually got?!
What do people use as a reliable speedtester?
Just take those 3 readings, and take into account that overheads apply to all three due to lots of things like distance, server load at the test time etc,and you come up with an approx average of about 65/15.
But to get a better reading, try downloading a large [about 2GB] file from a known good server and what you see in the download speed window,in windows is your correct [or very near] download speed.
Do not let the download end, just run it long enough to note the reading.
But your stated 9.8MB sec,is really cool as it is about 79Mbps.:)
A NewsLeecher download is reporting a little slower at 8.9MB/s. How do you convert to Mbps?
Seems to fluctuate a little depending what I'm testing with. Average seems to be around 75. Not too bad either way!
