How is cancellation fee calculated?

Hi. I'm moving house on 21 January. I have a contract (phone, broadband, sport) until 12 June. I have paid fees for that until 05 February. My new house already has a contract in place so I have no need to continue my BT contract.

I spoke with an advisor today about terminating my contract in the next few weeks. She advised that if I cancel today, my cancellation fee would be ~£115 - regardless of when I want the contract to end (as it would be processed today). If I wait until 05 February to call and cancel, my cancellation fee would be ~£90. Is this correct? Surely if I've already paid until 05 February, any fees should be from that date regardless of when I cancel before then. Am I missing something?

Re: How is cancellation fee calculated?

I've read the info on the cancellation fees page but it doesn't help.

Re: How is cancellation fee calculated?

But isn't that completely illogical? I've already paid until 05 February.
