How long after wholesale availability can orders be placed

In our street we've had the scenario of Exchange being Infinity enabled ages ago but no sign of our cabinet being upgraded and as such the availability date as indicated at his link

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

has continually slipped.

Finally that site is showing as 'Available' but:

1) The retail side of life (BT and my ISP) aren't allowing orders

2) The speeds as indicated by the site are very poor (about what we get at the moment!)

Anyone know what the above situation would imply about the likleihood of a decent fibre service any time soon?

Re: How long after wholesale availability can orders be placed

I want to remember the online system is slower to update, I would advise trying to order over the phone. Though you won't get some of the free stuff when you order online. BT should also be able to tell you when they are going to start selling.

IMHO If the ISP's are not accepting orders due to the speed issue then Openreach must not have released your cab for the service and it is awaiting problems being solved.

Could you give us a local postcode to check?

You might be too far from the cab. Do you know where your cab is?

Orders will be refused if the speed estimate is below a certain amount.

Any amount can be ordered, Infinity is 15+

Faster Total Broadband will sell until it's the same as your ADSL connection

Re: How long after wholesale availability can orders be placed

The VDSL2 estimate is the same as ADSL, for the OP. If he's a super long distance from the cab, there is no point moving to a new product if he won't notice a speed increase.

Postcode is RG40 3QS. Although having just checked the availability has since moved back to 19th Feb!
