The flat I am about to move into has a phone socket but the line is dead. I have tested it with a phone I know is working and also a second phone. So the line is ceased or has a fault on it.
How much would BT charge to get the line up and running again?
I believe that you would need a new line installing... which would require an engineer visit £130.00
I do not work for BT.
You probably don't need a new line, but BT Openreach charge if they have to do any work to re-connect the line, even just plugging it back in at the exchange.
BT does offer some package deals with a reduced or waived connection charge.
