I'd like to remove an attachment from an email (using my web based mail) but I can't seem to do so without deleting the whole message. Can anyone advise please?
Open the email
Delete the attachment in the Forwarded version
Forward the email to yourself
You can also edit out the evidence that it has been forwarded.
Check that you have received the Forwarded email.
If all OK delete the original
If necessary delete the Trash copy.
Thanks very much for your reply. In the end, I *was* actually able to delete the attachment from an email without deleting the entire email (in my Outlook mail programme); the reason I thought the entire message was being deleted was because it did disappear, but only because I had done a search for all messages with attachments *by size*, and so once the attchment was deleted, the message size reduced and hence was moved down the list! Duh! I didn't realise this is what was happening.
However, my Q is: is there a way to remove the attachment from an email in the web based mail (bt.com) without having to forward it to myself-in other words, can an attachment be deleted from a message in web based mail or is this not possible (without using the method above, i.e., forwarding first)? Outlook make it so easy to do this but I wasn't sure how to do this in my web-based mail.
Thanks in advance!
