Yes.
Assuming you are composing in Rich Text. Start to compose your email and in the menu bar you will find an icon named "Local Image". Click on that and select the image you want to add to your email. It will be added where your cursor is placed. If I remember correctly there is a size limit which unfortunately I can not recall at the moment.
