Re: How to order FTTP on Demand when availability checker says you can get it!

100Mb / 100Mb free installation and hardware or a 3Yr term BUT with the potential for ECC's following site survey.

Do you have any other FTTP on Demand suppliers details, much googling have not returned any results? Thanks.

DSLChecker.pngI have the same problem. Bt says I can get FTTP on demand, but no Isp's do it. Its frustrating to be told one thing, and then to be told we dont offer it.

Fluidata/fluidone offer it.

Expect £3-5k installation fee and £300 a month for the first 3 years for a 330/30mbps service.

After that the price drops to standard FTTP pricing.

Re: How to order FTTP on Demand when availability checker says you can get it!

I have spoken at length to Fluidata/fluidone and a couple of other suppliers and they are simply not interested in offering it as a product. They just price it up the same as a fibre optic leased line and try to sell you that instead. "FTTP on Demand" is basically dead in the water.

@2infinityandbeyond

This may be of some interest to you - http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/t/4552969-my-fluidone-fttpod-install-experience.html

The FTTPoD service does exist but primarily aimed businesses as the costs are quite high due to the deployment work.

Re: How to order FTTP on Demand when availability checker says you can get it!

Absolutely incorrect.

A number of people have had it installed via fluidone, including the thread linked above.

There's an Openreach engineer who posts on that site who also confirmed the number of FoD installations he's doing is increasing.

Re: How to order FTTP on Demand when availability checker says you can get it!

He paid £3700 installation and then £300 per month on a 3 year contract, totalling £14,500 over the contract length, so whilst not completely "dead in the water" as i previously said, it is certainly "mostly" dead in the water for most people! He was also lucky that he was in a relatively newly built property, with fibre nearby and he already had duct all the way to the door. We were quoted just under £20,000 for installation alone.

@2infinityandbeyond

As previously said, the target market for this service is primarily businesses at the moment due to costs (which is why it's currently some Business ISPs that offer it). A fair few on the industrial estate near here have it.

Those are the prices. Like it or lump it.

Openreach are not obliged to provide FTTP.

£20k must mean you're absolutely miles from the nearest node.
