How to use HH4 as a Slave hub?

Does anyone know how to use the new hub as a slave to the hh3?

Right now I am using a HH3 as a slave to HH3. Has anyone been able to successfully pair these two routers?

Thank you.

I am going to follow this guide to use my new HH4 as a repeater to me HH3:

It (the link) should work, but atm I've not checked to see if the info for the type a or type b works on the HH4.

If not, let us know and I'll take a look;)

Done, it worked. The settings were a bit different in the HHB4 but it all works according to the guide.

Now I have a HHB4a being used as a slave to HHB3a. I am planning onto set this up for all the HHB4s we have. I haven't yet tested a HHB4 as a slave to HHB4 but once I get more stock, I will be doing that too.

Thank you DS.

Glad to hear it;)

a heads up - A HH3b as a slave is a PITA and may not work.

Hmm, A HH4a and a HH4a. That would be a good set up:)

the only issue is that the HH4a is now stuck showing orange light for both the broadband and power. I am using the slave HH4 with a powerline adapter, I don't mind the orange lights but I would be glad if there was a fix for it.

Re: How to use HH4 as a Slave hub?

I'd of only expected a BB light, not a power one too on the HH4:(

I say expected, but IMHO the lights shouldn't be there unless there is a fault - the wireless light does go amber if we manually turn of either 5GHz or 2.4GHz:(

I have thought about putting some tape on the inside of the front cover to hide the wireless light....:|, but that's not practical for the average user.

edit. Not that I've already opened one to have a look around;)

I personally don't mind the lights, as long as it works, lights don't matter.

After messing around with my router for hours, I have worked this much out. You have to have a cable inserted in the wan port, only that way the blinking orange light for power goes away.
