Hub 5 2.4/5 GHz

Hi, just I installed a smart hub 5 and having the same problem. All my smart bulbs and plugs return the only use 2.4ghz error.
Tried turning off the 5ghz but all my devices disconnected as no Internet. Had to turn off the hub to get the Internet back.
How do I disable the 5ghz without losing the Internet signal.

Hi @Davefbryant

Your problem is not the same, you cannot split the bands on the new Smart Hub 2 but you can on the Home Hub 5. The first thing to try is to split the bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz

Re: Hub 5 2.4/5 GHz

Hi John 2,
My apologies, I have the smart hub 2.

As I cannot split the channels, all my smart devices are useless?

May have to go back to the old router.

Hi @Davefbryant. Have you turned off smart setup?

Re: Hub 5 2.4/5 GHz

How would that help?

I'm having the same issues, my Sonos Play:1's simply will not connect (they don't support 5ghz)

Smart setup was switched on.

Turned it off but still cannot connect to my smart bulbs.

Hi @Davefbryant  So next is to try the suggested solution which is turn off 5 GHz connect your devices and then turn on 5 GHz.

I tried that, all devices lost connection, even my TV connected via cat lead. Had to switch router off and then restart to regain Internet.

Hi @Davefbryant

Just a thought, you are connected to the SH2 by Ethernet while you switch off the 5 GHz band. Note this will also cut the communications with any Discs as a temporary measure.

Re: Hub 5 2.4/5 GHz

No by WiFi. Will being connected by cable stop both channels being switched off.
