Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

Just upgraded to infinity and got new hub 6. We can connect phones to new hub - all ok.

However our laptops (Sony viao and HP) do not pick up the hub6 wifi in the connection list. However it picks up all of our neighbours.

Any suggestions?

Re: Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

Welcome to this user forum.

Its possible that the wireless card drivers are out of date, or the wireless cards are too old.

See this other thread regarding the Sony

https://community.bt.com/t5/Connected-Devices-Other/Re-Home-Hub-6-Sony-Viao-Laptop-issue/td-p/169932...

How old is the HP laptop?

Have they both been recently upgraded to Windows 10?

Have you tried the different wireless modes on the home hub?

Re: Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

Might be worth splitting the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi to use different names.

And try different 'modes' (1, 2 or 3) to see if that helps at all.

Re: Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

Hp laptop is probably about 5 years old. I uninstalled driver and reinstalled. Didn't work?

Will check out thread.

However how can we pick up neighbours hub6 who had install on the same day as us?

Re: Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

It could be that the phones are connecting at 5G, and the home hub is not transmitting 2.4G for some reason.

Go to this page and see if the 2.4GHz wireless is on.

Re: Hub 6 - cannot connect laptops

Thanks so much for your help but still not working.

Trying splitting - made no difference.
