I have an old Rickmansworth 4 digit number - how can I find new number?

Go to solution

We need to advise people of the death of a family member.  For one person we have only a christian name and an old Rickmansworth landline number.  Is there any way of discovering the current number?

The name is Gwen and the number we have found amongst documents belonging to the deceased is Rickmansworth ****.

Gwen sent a christmas card this christmas, so she still exists, but we have no address.  Even if she has moved, maybe the current owner of that number will know how she can be contacted.

Would appreciate any help.

Welcome to this forum.
This is a customer to customer forum only,

This is where customers help each other get the most out of BT products & services.

Anything you post here does not go to BT. Although the forum is moderated by BT, not all posts are read.
Everyone posting here, are just BT customers like myself

I cannot imagine that BT would be ably to supply that sort of information, especially for a number that old.

This is a public forum which can be viewed worldwide, so please do not post any personal information, especially phone numbers, account numbers, fault numbers, address information or email addresses, as this could be used to impersonate you.

Thanks

Thanks Keith,

Yes I realised that this was a BT customer forum, but as often happens with similar forums, I was hoping that a knowledgeable expert might be able to assist in a personal capacity.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.  This was really our last port of call.

I have asked a moderator to comment, should they have any suggestions.

The dialling code for Rickmansworth is 01923, but numbers are now six digits long. The prefix may be 77.

You could always try ringing the number, using the code, prefix digits and number. I am sure you could work it out.

I have PM'd 4 possible prefixes to @brissle but didn't want to post here as the partial number is still displayed.

I have tried to be cryptic, but if there are othe prefixes, then it gives more options.

I doubt that there is any clever robotic software scanning this forum that could piece it all together Smiley Wink
