I've just traveled to scotland to visit a friend and found something very strage...
There is a house on his street with the same homehub SSID as my home router and my phone keeps trying to connect to it . Why is this the case, I assumed that the default SSID of my home router would be unique?

Solved! Go to Solution.
Its not unique, however the BSSID (Wireless MAC address) would be different, as each wireless radio unit has its own unique hardware address.
The BSSID can be read by any wireless device, and location services like Google, store that information to help with identifying where you are.
