Please, please go and see a specialist debt advisor before talking any further to BT. It sounds like you have been treated very poorly and possibly unlawfully and should get proper advice before going any further. If you are on benefits (or simiar) any such advice should be free to you. If you don't know where to go your local Citizens Advice Bureau s=hould either be able to help or to point you in the direction of another agency that can.
