My speedtest is down from 38mb to 29mb but I suspect the speedtester may be getting nailed heavily tonight.
Tried downloading XP SP3 from microsoft and it is taking 4 minutes instead of the usual 1 minute so speeds are not what they were
Yeah it's all over the place at the moment, big differences between each test or server ... but generally low
Has anyone else been told this by the helpdesk.
Just got of the phone again and have been told the all BT infinity customers in the affected number area's will be getting a compensation payment/reduction in theire next bill!!!
There clearly is a capacity issue here as the service flies along during the day but grinds to a virtual standstill during the peak evening hours ----i've been as low as a 300k upload at times (bring back dial up days!!).
I have raised an executive complaint about this (have contacts in BT as a previous employee) and will wait to see what they respond with.
How long will we have to put up with this .
It's certainly better here (Bagshot, Surrey), but mixed results from 13meg to 35meg and the upload seems to be suffering a bit now, down to 5 or 6 from 8. Not perfect, but certainly a lot better than it was! Maybe just peak time network congestion, but if it is like this now in the early days of Infinity, then BT need to really sort their capacity out as more and more people sign up!
Interested to know peoples experiences with compensation, I am going to claim some, shouldn't have to pay for the service we got the last 4 weekday evenings.
After having endured the same slow download speed (1.8MB) issues as other users there is today a total failure of Infinity (according to BT Help desk) in the 01256 (Basingstoke) area.
The Helpdesk say they will call you back to update but, never do.
